Central City Shuttle

Red Bus offers a free shuttle service in the central city. The shuttle is a special hybrid type of bus which runs mainly on electricity.

The shuttle is a convenient way for locals and visitors to the city to travel between attractions in the central city area. The route passes by a number of hotels, shopping malls and cinema complexes as well as the Town Hall, Casino and Cathedral Square.

Timetable

The shuttle departs every 10 minutes from 7.30am Monday to Friday, from 8am on Saturdays and 10am on Sundays and public holidays. The service runs through to 10.30pm every evening (8pm on Sundays and public holidays). The shuttle operates on a reduced frequency of every 15 minutes after 7pm Monday to Thursday and after 5pm on Sundays and public holidays.

This service operates every day except for New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Environmental Benefits Of Using Our Electric Bus:

The HEV system uses a smaller electronically controlled power plant (APU).  This lowers both visible and transparent polluting gases compared to using a much larger engine.

 

Using an electric motor and small APU configuration, rather than a large internal combustion engine, greatly reduces the noise vibration output.
