City Flyer - via Fendalton and Merivale

The Red Bus City Flyers provide a convenient, economical and environmentally friendly way to travel between Christchurch International Airport and the central city.

Timetable

The City Flyers are Christchurch’s public transport to and from the airport. Services alternate between two routes:

  • via Fendalton (No. 29) Starts at The Square travelling via the Bus Xchange, Hagley Park, Mona Vale,  Fendalton, and through Burnside to the airport.
  • via Merivale (No.10). Starts in Cashmere, then passes through the Bus Xchange, The Square, Merivale, Papanui and Bishopdale to the airport.

Both services call into the International Antarctic Centre on their way back.

A City Flyer leaves the Airport for the City every 15 minutes in peak times and the journey whether via Fendalton (No. 29) or Merivale (No.10) takes approximately 30 minutes from the city to the airport.
